What is Swaprocks!?
Swaprocks! is a virtual "swap-meet" where users offer their CDs, DVDs, and video games that they would like to part with, so that they can in-turn earn credits to take items they would like. Our philosophy is if you have an item you no longer want, why not get rid of it and get something you'd rather have. We've thrown pricing structures out the window and given everything the value of one. One CD for one video game, one DVD for one CD, one video game for one video game, and so on.
Why is Swaprocks! different from an auction site?
With an auction site you have the wide variables of an items price and the wait of having to see if you've won the auction. With Swaprocks!, if you see an item you want, and you have a Swap Credit, you can take it. Also, with Swaprocks! there are no listing or membership fees.
Are there any fees to use the site?
No. It's all free, so tell your friends.
What browsers are compatible with Swaprocks!?
Swaprocks! works with the latest PC and Mac X versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape, Mozilla Firefox as well as Apple Safari. There might be some cosmetic differences from browser to browser, however all of the functions will work.
Why is Swaprocks! only for people living in the United States?
Part of the Swaprocks! system is to keep all of the shipping costs low and the same. The only way to do this is to keep the mailing within the United States. Perhaps in a not so distant future we'll be coming to a country near you.
Why do I need to register?
Though everyone is allowed to browse through the Swaprocks!, registering allows you to offer and take items. This also ensures you've seen the rules and regulations for the site, which helps our legal team sleep easier.
How do I register?
Registering with Swaprocks! is easy. Fill out the on line form, and the Swaprocks! super computer will send you a confirmation email with our User Agreement. Confirm you understand it and you are now a Swaprocks user! (NOTE: Make sure you check your SPAM folder when checking for your confirmation email.)
Why do I need to verify my email address?
Your account must always be associated with a valid email address so that we, and other Swaprocks! users can contact you. We also only allow one account per email address. Action resulting from an invalid email address may be an indefinite suspension of a Swaprocks! users account, temporary suspension, or a formal warning.
Why do I have to do a credit card verification?
This is just an added security step for all involved. Once your card is verified, that information is purged from our system. We do not save your credit card information.
What's a "Swap Credit" again?
When a user successfully receives an item they have taken from your offered list (this could be a CD, DVD or video game) you receive one Swap Credit. The Swap Credit allows you to take any item from any user.
